¿En qué consiste la Numerica Jam?

Desde el momento en el que surgió Numerica en una lluvia de ideas sobre posibles ejemplos para incluir en el plugin Very Simple Twitch Chat, la gente que ha probado el juego ha fantaseado con distintas variedades. Desde Alfabética, hecha con las letras del abecedario hasta Binerica, donde hay que seguir la secuencia con números binarios.

Espero que esta Jam sirva como excusa para hacer realidad todas estas versiones alternativas a Numerica y que podamos probarlas en el canal y ver cómo se crea el caos que podría iniciar un conflicto internacional sin precedente.

¿Qué es Numerica?

Antes de nada, os explico qué es Numerica. Se trata de un juego que he desarrollado para ser jugado por el chat de Twitch y cuyo código se ha liberado bajo licencia GPLv3.

Las reglas del juego son simples:

1. Cada vez que alguien del chat escribe un número, el contador incrementará su valor.

2. Si una persona del chat se equivoca de número, el contador se reiniciará y la persona recibirá un opcional pero bien merecido timeout.

3. Un mismo usuario no puede escribir dos números consecutivos

El fenómeno Numerica

Numerica ha dado pie a algunos de los momentos más memorables que se han vivido en Twitch. Desde la muestra de civismo y educación para llegar al 100 en el canal de Psuzume hasta los cientos de timeouts en el canal de Loulogio. Cuenta la leyenda que algunas personas no pudieron siquiera asistir al stream del día siguiente.

Recordemos también el momento donde SherezadeMR casi se queda sin mod y pareja al mismo tiempo por este simple juego y como Niv3k_el_pato tuvo que dejar de usarlo porque sus moderadores estaban totalmente enganchados a este polémico juego.

Normas de la Jam

◉ El proyecto debe tener integración con Twitch, como mínimo lectura del chat con conexión anónima. Debe tener una mecánica simple y tener inspiración en el mismo principio de cooperación / competición del juego original. Si tienes alguna duda sobre la validez o viabilidad de tu idea, puedes preguntarme sin ningún problema.

◉ El proyecto debe ser Open Source. Si usas el repositorio de Numerica, al ser licencia GPLv3, tienes que liberar el código del juego con la misma licencia. En el caso de que hagas el juego desde cero o solo uses el plugin de Very Simple Twitch Chat (licencia MIT), puedes liberar el código bajo la licencia que quieras.

◉ Debido a lo delicado de la Jam (exige tener permisos en la cuenta de Twitch del streamer) me reservo el derecho a eliminar cualquier participación sospechosa o que esté aprovechándose de los permisos de Twitch para recopilar datos o ser usada fraudulentamente.

◉ Se puede participar en solitario o por equipos, tantas entradas como se desee.

◉ Está permitido usar timeouts pero no está permitido banear permanentemente. Por motivos de seguridad, hay que explicar detalladamente qué va a hacer el juego con los permisos de Twitch.

FAQ

¿Puedo usar el código de Numerica de base para mi proyecto?

¡Te animo a que lo hagas! Siéntete libre de clonar el repositorio de Numerica o hacer un fork y añadir tus propios cambios. No olvides, que cualquier cambio debe ser público y estar liberado usando la misma licencia, GPLV3.

¿Puedo usar otro motor o lenguaje?

¡Por supuesto! Puedes usar el motor o framework con el que mejor te desenvuelvas o incluso hacer una versión web en lugar de una aplicación de escritorio.

Estoy empezando con Unity y sé muy poquito, ¿me halludas?

Claro que sí <3 Ya que quiero que esta jam sea lo más simple posible, voy a reservar varias horas durante la jam para ayudaros con vuestras dudas, tanto en directo como fuera de stream. En discord prepararemos un foro donde podréis preguntar lo que queráis y tendremos llamadas donde podéis pedirme ayuda en el canal de voz.

What's Numerica

Numerica is a game develoep to be played by the Twitch chat and wich code has been released under the GPLv3 license.

The game rules are simple:

1. Each time a viewer types a number, the counter will increase.

2. If a viewer types the wrong number, the counter will restart, and the viewer gets an optional but well-deserved timeout.

3. A viewer can't type two consecutive numbers.

The Numerica phenomenon

Numerica has led to some great moments on the Twitch platform. From the display of civility and education to reach 100 on Psuzume's channel to the hundreds of timeouts on Loulogio's channel. People who could not even attend the next day's stream.

Let's also remember the time where SherezadeMR was almost left without mod and partner because of this simple game, as Niv3k_el_pato had to stop using it because his moderators were totally hooked on the controversial game.

What's the Numerica Jam

From the moment Numerica came up in a brainstorm of possible examples to include in the Very Simple Twitch Chat plugin, people who have tested the game have fantasized about different varieties of Numerica. Jam Rules

◉ The project must have a Twitch integration, at least chat reading with anonymous connection. It must have simple mechanics and be based on the same principle of cooperation / competition of the original game. If you have any doubt about the validity or feasibility of your idea, feel free to reach out to me with your questions.

◉ The project must be Open Source. If you use the Numerica repository, being GPLv3 license, you have to release the game code under the same license. In case you make the game from scratch or just use the Very Simple Twitch Chat plugin (MIT license), you can release the code under the license you want.

◉ Due to the sensitivity of the Jam (it requires permissions on the streamer's Twitch account) I reserve the right to remove any suspicious entries or any entry that is taking advantage of Twitch permissions to collect data or be used fraudulently.

◉ You can join solo or in teams, as many entries as you want.

◉ Timeouts are allowed but permanent banning is not. For security reasons, you must explain in detail what the game will do with theTwitch permissions.

There are a few streamers that will try out the jam entries in their streams! If you are a Twitch streamer and you want to be on this list, don't hesitate to send me an email and I'll consider your application personally :D

FAQ

Can I use the Numerica code to develop my project?

Sure thing! I encourage you to do so! Feel free to clone the Numerica repository or make a fork and add your own changes. Don't forgat, any changes must be public and released under the same license (GPLv3)

Can I use another engine or language?

Of course you can! You can use the engine or framework you are more comfortable with or even make a web version instead of a desktop application. If you are planning to develop a web application, give a look to Metalito and NiadeCode Numerica version. You can use their code as a base for your project :D

I'm starting with Unity and I know very little, can you help me plis?

Of course I will <3 Since I want this jam to be as simple as possible, I will block several hours during the jam to help you with your questions, both live and off stream. In discord we will set up a forum where you can ask whatever you want and we will have calls where you can ask me for help in the voice channel.
