Welcome to Rule of Carnage Jam #3!

Create a card!

  • the card must be for a miniatures wargame that doesn't exist
  • the card must feel like a minatures game component, holding necessary information for gameplay
  • the card may contain text, symbols and art, but it doesn't have to have all of these
  • the card can be anything (a unit's stat card, a setup / deployment card, a hidden objective card, a weapon card, a card with reminder text for a specific game mechanic etc.)
  • the card can be of any shape and size, but it must fit into an A6 (148 mm x 105 mm)
  • the card must reference unexplained miniatures game mechanics or keywords
  • the card should be inspiring to be used in miniatures games (assuming players agree on how to interpret it for their game)
  • the card may be one or two sided - creating a card back is optional
  • the card can be folded, but it must fit into two A6s side by side when unfolded (so either into an A5 or into 296x105 mm)
  • the card must be published here on itch.io and submitted to this jam before 2026. 06. 14 midnight (Central European Summer Time)
  • the card must be publicly accessible at least until the end of the voting period
  • the card must be released under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license (see on the bottom)

All participants may submit any number of entries, but with the following criteria:

  • every entry can only contain one single card
  • every entry must be for a different nonexistent miniatures game (differentiated by unique keywords, referenced mechanics, visual style, card size etc.)
  • every entry must have its own separate itch.io page (this is for voting reasons)

After the Jam ends (at 2026. 06. 14 midnight, CEST), there will be one week (until 2026. 06. 21 midnight, CEST) for the hosts and participants to rate entries based on the following criteria:

  • How good does the card look(if it's only text and symbols, focus on composition, layout, font selection etc.)
  • How good are the plain contents on the card? (text and numbers, ignoring visuals - if the card has only art, rate how well that art communicates a gameplay message)
  • How interesting are the miniatures-game specific interactions implied by the card? (ranges, line of sight, and other mechanics centered around the spatial relations between game components)
  • How much do you want to use the card in an already existing miniatures game?
  • How much do you want to see a miniatures game designed around on the card?
  • How much do you like the card overall?

This jam's goal is to inspire anyone who likes to create or homebrew miniatures games. To let anyone build upon these ideas freely (as a solo project or perhaps even in a future Rule of Carnage Game Jam), all entries must be released under the Creative Crommons license detailed below.
