What is this?
This is a jam for creating more nonbinary representation, which means one or more of the following:
- A nonbinary main character
- Discussion of the nonbinary experience in some way
- Narrative following a nonbinary character's journey
If you happen to be nonbinary yourself, that's great, but it's not required.
The jam starts on international nonbinary day and runs for a month. After the jam ends you are encouraged to try out and leave feedback on your fellow contributors' work!
Is there a theme?
The optional theme is CELEBRATION. It is just there to inspire you, so don't feel pressured to make something that matches it.
Anything else?
Some rules and guidelines:
- Don't be mean! Harassment and rude comments will not be tolerated.
- You can use assets made by someone else if you want, but make sure to follow eventual terms (like attribution and such). Do not use generative AI!
- If you have a previous WIP that qualifies to be in the jam, then you are free to submit it! (Yes, you’re allowed to use this jam as an incentive to finish something.)
- NSFW games are okay, but please make it clear the game is NSFW. The best way to do this is in the game itself, but putting it in the description and/or the game's cover is good too.
- Feel free to make something that isn't a game, as long as it still follows the rules.
- It's perfectly fine to submit the same game to other jams, as long as you make sure to follow the rules of those jams as well as this one.
- Do your research! Don't know what it's like to be nonbinary? Find articles and videos about the nonbinary experience! Here's a starting point for you. Use the search engine of your choice to find what you need!
- Even if your game is unfinished by the jam's end, you are encouraged to submit it anyway! It's perfectly fine to update your game after it's submitted.
- Have fun! :D This is a chill jam, so please remember to enjoy yourself!
