April 2022 THEME : Changing Perspective
Special Object : Mirror
- We are proud to present to you the Nexus Gam Jam, a yearly event in April powered by VGS. The goal of this game jam is to bring people together in sharing their passions and experiences in the game development industry. We aim to build a community from the Mediterranean regions that we hope to keep on nurturing. We invite anyone interested to join in with us and to use the engine and tools of their preference to make this event come to life. Join us on Discord!
- In this Game Jam, you have a limited time of two days (48 h) to create a game or a prototype. After the submission time, the judges have two days to play and vote the games. After that, a winner will be selected.
- The Game Jam will have a theme and a special object. Your game should be based around the theme, which gets revealed when the jam starts. The special object should be in your game and should play a somewhat important role.
- Submission: Participants will complete their submission on the specialized itch.io jam submission page.
- Rules: The only rule we have is that your game must not include any NSFW and offensive/discriminatory content. We wish for the games to be playable by everyone! Apart from that, you are allowed to use any game engine or framework, you can also use assets not made by you, but make sure you have the proper license to use them, and crediting is of course encouraged! Making everything from scratch is not mandatory, but if you do you get to be extra proud of yourself at the end. Teaming up is allowed, and encouraged! Our recommendation is that you stick with 4 people maximum, otherwise you'll have a hard time coordinating. Making changes after the deadline is not possible. Also know that linking to an external site will disqualify you from the jam. So make sure your game is uploaded to itch.io if you want to participate. The theme will be announced here and on our Discord Server when the Jam starts. You can also vote for the theme on the Discord Server.
- Join our game dev community on Discord! so if you're looking for a team, technical support, or feedback this is the place to look.
