HOUDINI Magazine Presents: The New Vegas Jam

Welcome to the first of our monthly game jams, and we’re starting with a bang by celebrating an undisputed classic: Fallout: New Vegas.

More than  a cult classic, New Vegas is a mood. The setting, the lore, the characters? It's all pure kino.

This jam is your chance to dive back into that post-post apocalyptic space. We're looking for creations that honor the game's unique legacy and lore. Your goal is to capture the New Vegas vibe, whether through direct tribute or by building something that feels like a genuine part of the universe.

What can you create? We’re looking for two types of work:

1. The Tribute

Show your love for the game itself. Create fan art of your favorite character, like the charismatic Benny or the stoic Boone. Write a short story from the perspective of a Legion recruit or a NCR soldier.  Create a game that recreates a moment from the game in a new light "Hoover Dam Tower Defense", yeah you can steal that idea!

2. The In-World Artifact

Design something that feels like it was ripped right from the game. This could be:

• Propaganda posters for Mr. House or Caesar's Legion.
•  A tabletop game designed to be played in the back alleys of Freeside.
• A Pipboy style arcade game.
• A flyer for a seedy show at the Gomorrah.

If it feels like it belongs in the world of casinos, couriers, and cazadores, we want to see it. This jam is for everyone—from the Fallout tourist making their first trip to the Strip to the hardcore purist  who knows every ending by heart.

The New Vegas Jam runs from September 8th to September 30th.
