An NES-themed game jam hosted by the NEStalgia Podcast. 

For this jam, we're asking participants to create games with NES specs.

• Games should be in 256x240 resolution (since the viewable area of NES games is technically 256x224, this resolution works as well)

• Use only the NES color palette (strongly encouraged but not required as this is a late addition to the rules) 

• The audio doesn't have to be exact recreations of the NES's capabilities, but should feel at least reminiscent of NES sounds.

• Have controls that correspond to the buttons of the NES controller (A, B, D pad, Start, Select).

• Employ an optional theme that will be announced when the jam begins: Resurrection

• (New!) If you can, please submit either a web browser version of your game, or both a Mac and PC version of the game (or all three). Some members of the NEStalgia Podcast don't have PCs, or only have PCs, and we want to allow everyone to play all the games submitted. 

What NES games inspire you? What are your favorites? What kind of game would you have liked to play on the NES? 

Feel free to revisit mechanics or themes present in your favorite NES games. Whether it's platformers, puzzle games, sports games, SHMUPS, or something completely different (what would you call Raid On Bungeling Bay?), make something that excites you!

Once the submission deadline has closed, we will play all the games and talk about our favorites on a special episode of the NEStalgia Podcast.
