This is a game jam about the things we want to believe in, whatever that may be. Paranormal, extranormal. Subnormal? Just.. normal? Its elusive, that thing we believe it. Its the thing the needs to exist for the world to have the energy it needs. Without it, the world unravels, it makes less sense. 

Make a game about that thing.
Make us want to believe.

A game jam for research

This game jam is part of a research study. You will need to join our Discord to participate in the jam.

As a part of this jam you will document and reflect upon your progress by interacting with a bot and another jammer. The bot will guide you through the creation of small video updates on your game, help you assess your progress, and direct feedback and discussion on your project with jammers. There will be four times during the game jam were you will be expected to interact with the bot and other jammers.

By joining this jam you will be participating in a study of how people develop long-term game development skills during, and after, a game jam.  The full information about what we will be observing, how we will be observing it, and how we will report the data collected can be found  here, and you will have to acknowledge the data use before joining our Discord server. Those younger than 18 who are joining this jam must first get parental permission. Please have your parents / guardians review and sign this form and email it to tfaas@iupui.edu.

We hope to have you join & help us to understand where and how game jams have post-jam effects!
