The N64brew Community is hosting its fifth Nintendo 64 Homebrew Game Jam. Like previous years, we are running a charity event, where the first place entry gets to decide where the proceeds go to.
We've got a donation pool with over $1000, subject to increase over time. If you've ever been interested in homebrew development or old consoles, now might be the best time to jump in! You don't even need to be a programmer, 2D or 3D artists, and musicians are needed as well!
Like last year, we are doing a community vote for the submissions. We're also doing some changes to the rules this time around: everyone is contributing minigames, which we will collect into one giant ROM. Participants are also eligible to enter a raffle in order to win a Limited Edition N64 Watch from 1996, and a Summer Cart 64!
I've never programmed for a game console before!
At N64brew, we provide tons of resources to get you started, as well as an active community with hundreds of members willing to answer questions and help you out.
I don't own a Nintendo64/flashcart. Can I still participate?
While we require submissions to run on real hardware, we provide a channel to allow you to ask people to test your ROM. It is recommended you do this often, emulators aren't always accurate.
