FAQ
Q. Where can we organize with our team?
- Game jam teams are able to communicate in the game jam section of the Muse in You discord server, the hosted itchi.io community board, their own dms, or in person.
Q. Where do we submit our game once it’s finished?
- Game jam titles will be submitted through a designated itch.io game jam page hosted by us for everyone participating in the jam to see. Assigned judges will rate the submissions once everyone has had a chance to submit.
Q. I signed up solo, but I want to work with a team. Where can I find other team members?
- Participants may organize with other individuals and groups in the game jam through the Muse in You discord channel. Once a team has been made and has a name, the team must let the jam organizers know.
Q. How many people can we have in a team?
- You may have anywhere between 1-6 members to a team.
Q. Why do you need to know everyone’s contact info from the team?
- To keep the jam organized and safe, it is important for us to know the contact information of all participants.
Q. When will the winner be announced?
- Once the jam concludes, the judges will have one week to vote on the games submitted. At the end of that week the winner will be announced publicly and everyone will know at the same time. Once the winner is announced, the jam team will reach out to the winning team for further information.
Q. How is the prize distributed amongst a team?
- Cash and product prizes will be distributed equally amongst team members. If the team submitted is a studio and would prefer the prize go towards that studio,
- The entire team must communicate and agree on those terms and let the jam organizers know.
Q. What are the judging criteria?
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Theme interpretation
- Design
- Game Play
- Art
- Music
Q. Can we use AI to assist us in things like writing and code?
- We strongly discourage the use of Generative AI for all things creative (imagery, writing, music, sound art, etc.). The game jam is based on an honour system where our team projects are sourced ethically, but we don't necessarily have the resources to make sure. The use of AI to assist with coding is permitted.
