The Mountain Creek State highschool is a project in which students will form their own teams (1-5 members) in order to make a fully functioning game that fits within a previously chosen theme in a 1 month time frame. Each team member will be allocated a role from either art, music, coding, and director. Any member is free to take one or more of these roles apart from director in which the group must allocate someone for the role. During this one-month classes will be given every afternoon after school. Classes on Monday and Tuesday will focus on graphics, art, music, and sound design. Lessons on Wednesday will focus on general game design that will be applicable to every project no matter what software they use to create their game and lessons on Thursday and Friday will be tutorial lessons focusing on a free software called Unity in which over the month people with no prior game development will be able to complete their very first game. Spreading the lessons out like this will allow certain for people with certain roles to only have to come to a few classes a week, although the general game design class may be beneficial to all team members as it will discuss how all elements of the game will coherently come together. We will also be recording all lessons and uploading them to a YouTube channel incase a student is unable to attend a certain lesson they will still be able to view everything that was discussed.

After the one month that students will have to complete the game there will be a 2 week judging period in which every game will be graded on their creativity, gameplay, graphics, sound and enjoyability and overall execution. Points will be more generously awarded to games that have better gameplay, are more creative and are more enjoyable in comparison to those with better art and sound in order to give a fairer score towards teams with less members. The games will be scored by three separate judges with 3 different levels of gaming experience in order for students to get a wide array of feedback from different groups.
