👽 WELCOME EARTHLINGS 👽

🛸 You have officially landed on the Mothership. It is here where we host our first GAME JAM! This jam lasts 48 hours to challenge Earthlings to build a game based on a theme.

🚀 Theme

The theme will be announced on September 21st at 7:00 PM. Join our Discord to suggest a theme! We will be picking the top 10 suggested themes that the council feels would best fit the first Mothership Game Jam and we will spin a random wheel at the start of the jam.

🌟 Participating

All members of MATC Mothership are welcome to join this game jam. All skill levels are welcome! Members of Mothership make up an array of first-semester students to alumni. This game jam is a perfect opportunity to create your very first game or dust off your devving skills. Not a member of Mothership? Fill out our recruitment form to join today!

All members of Mothership are given access to our Discord where you can find a team, share your progress, ask for feedback, see what others are building, ask questions, and more.

🖖 Submitting

Submissions are open starting 9/21 at 7 PM and remain open until 9/23 at 7 PM. After 7 PM submissions will be closed. All submissions must be turned in by the deadline on itch.io.

👨‍🚀 Rules

All game engines are allowed!
Submissions should be original and developed primarily during the jam period, preferably for the jam itself.
Every platform is welcome.
Using any existing, bought, or premade assets is allowed. This also includes sound and fonts.
You may work with however many people you would like.
Submissions may not promote discriminatory views such as racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.

📡Showcase

This game jam will not be rated nor will there be voting. It is an open learning experience. We will be hosting an in-person showcase on 9/26 starting at 5 PM in room M172 at MATC.
