Moonlight Game Jam is an event where you create a game from scratch over the space of a month based on a theme.
Themes are suggested in the facebook group and the top 5 with the most likes are put into a box and then one is selected at random.
This is picked the last day of the month before the jam starts.
Note – If there is more than 5 themes with the same amount of likes then we will
included all the ones with the amount of likes at the 5th option.
Please just use assets that are free in the public domain or ones that you created yourself,
we want to keep everything free and accessible for everyone.
Your game belongs to you. After all, you made it!
The Moonlight Game Jam, its organizers and affiliates claim no rights or ownership of your game.
We do request the right to use your game for purpose of publicizing the event.
There are no physical or cash prizes for the competition. Your prize is your product.
That said, you have a game now. What are you going to do with it?
Backups
I would recommend backing up your project through source control or some other means so you don’t lose
your entire project in the case of a power surge or something happening to your device.
Builds
I would recommend every time you do a build of your project to do separate builds
and not overwrite the same one over and over.
The reason for this is if you have a working project and the next build you do breaks
something in the game at least you can go back to the previous build.
When submitting your game please provide the following:
Screenshot or/and Trailer
Intro or Story
Objective or Goal
Controls or/and Instructions
Downloadable file or zipped website with everything needed to play the game
You’re encouraged to take your game above-and-beyond the Moonlight Game Jam.
Our job is to encourage you to make a game, but after that it’s up to you.
