Mobo Game Jam is a global game-making challenge brought to you by Kucheza Gaming, and Ukie education’s Digital Schoolhouse.
Games have the power to inspire change, communicate important messages, and entertain. Your challenge is to develop a short game or game idea that promotes the dangers of MISINFORMATION and helps players to understand the importance of taking positive action against misinforming the general public.
Once you have created your game, you are tasked with presenting it in the form of a short video pitch. You can use in-game footage, designs you have created, or a paper prototype to demonstrate your game.
Misinformation can be extremely deceptive. It's only the act of saying anything or someone that is false or not honest.
According to some schools of thinking, it is specifically intentionally misleading or inaccurate information that should be avoided.
In the modern era, false information is often spread on social media. Some people or groups disseminate unreliable information on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, among others. Many are fabricated stories, rumors, and chitchat that have the potential to damage the reputation of a person, group of people, or organization.
Want to get involved? From 10.00 GMT+1 on Friday 2 December 2022 to 23.59 GMT+1 on Friday 24 February 2023, you can submit your game or game idea via video submission, and have it judged by selected judges from the game industry.
Winners will have the opportunity to see their games showcased live, and this will help raise awareness of the dangers of misinformation and the fight against it.
The submission deadline is 23:59 GMT+1 on Friday 24 February 2023.
