Let's celebrate the summer solstice with this fourth Mid-Jam!
The Mid-Jam is a ranked game jam that is held annually by Broken Mouse Studios (BMS) around the time of summer solstice.
It's topic can be submitted and voted on by everybody.
Submitted games must then include the most voted topic and/or the second most voted topic.
The participants can interpret the topics however they like.
Rules
Restrictions
- Your game must be created during the jam, but you are allowed to reuse your own code.
- All assets other than fonts and music must be your own work.
- Your game needs to be playable without the installation of third-party software. (except for Linux and BSD versions, if you are using frameworks like LÖVE and pygame)
- Your game must be submitted before the deadline.
- You are not allowed to upload updates other than bugfixes for your game after the submission period. (you can create a new game page for other changes)
Freedoms
- You can work solo or team up with others.
- You are allowed to create any type of game, like video games and board games.
- You are free to use any game engine, framework, libraries, programming languages etc...
- You can submit multiple entries.
- You can use any kind of art style (for example pixel art and programmer art).
- Have fun ;)
Code of Conduct
- Any kind of content which contains hate speech, discriminates persons or is Not Safe For Work, is disallowed.
How will my entry be voted on?
Your entry will be voted on publicly by the following criteria:
- Topic - How much the game is related to the jam's topic
- Idea - How good or original the idea is
- Gameplay - How fun the gameplay is
- Presentation - How good the game's graphics and levels look and how good the sound fits (if there is any sound)

if you provide a web and/or native Linux and BSD versions!
Timeframe
Topic System
- During 1st - 19th June 00:00 CEST you can submit your topic(s).
- During 19th - 22nd June 00:00 CEST you can vote on the submitted topics.
- On June 23rd 00:00 CEST the topic voting results will be published and the jam begins.
The Jam
- The jam will run from June 23rd 00:00 CEST to June 26th 00:00 CEST.
- After the jam has finished, public voting on the submitted games will be possible until July 3rd 00:00 CEST.

- You will keep all the rights of your own game, Broken Mouse Studios claims no rights or ownership of your game.
- Broken Mouse Studios reserves the right to change the Mid-Jam's rules at any time.
