Mini jam is a 72-hour-long, game development jam for independent game developers that occurs every two weeks.
Mini Jam involves a required condition that is announced as soon as it starts to spice things up. Remember, limitation breeds creativity.
You get the theme early so you can plan ahead, Just keep the limitation in mind.
This jam's theme is Abandoned. Remember, theme is purely inspirational and not required. Feel free to interpret it however you want.
The limitation is a special condition that your game must follow, but is open to interpretation. If your game does not follow the limitation, it may be removed.
The limitation is:
Game must not use screen shake of any kind
Screen shake isn't just the act of rapidly vibrating the camera, it is using the effect or more effects to add game feel to a game (usually for explosions and other impacts). If you want some examples of screen shake, take a look at games by Vlambeer. This limitation doesn't mean you cant have a nice juicy game, you just need to be a little more creative.
At the end of the Jam, there will be a rating period that lasts 5 days. Your game will be rated on:
Enjoyment - How much you enjoyed your time with the game.
Concept - How interesting or unique the main focus of the game was.
Presentation - How well executed the main focus of the game was.
Use of limitation - How well the game incorporated the given limitation.
Any games that do not follow these rules may be removed from the jam.
