What is the Michigame Jam?

This is WolverineSoft's and Spartasoft's collaborative summer game jam! Unlike most schoolyear jams, this jam will last one whole week and take place virtually via Discord! Participants are free to meet up in-person, but all announcements, information, and presentations will occur over Discord, so feel free to participate from literally anywhere you have a stable Internet connection!

When: 17:00 EST, Saturday, July 27th to 18:00 EST, Saturday, August 3rd

How Can I Participate?

1. Join the Michigame Jam discord at https://discord.gg/uvfvwvxuwU!
2.  Make sure to pay attention to the #announcements channel for important information about the jam, including events, deadlines, etc.
3. Teams can be either formed unofficially outside of the jam if jammers have teams already in mind. Otherwise, we have a form where jammers can sign up to be teamed with other jammers. Teams will be made at the start of the jam, but will finalized by submitting a form by midnight on Wednesday, July 31st.

After you complete all 3 steps, you’re all set!

Rules

1. If you use any third party assets (Music, SFX, Art, etc) they must be free-to-use and properly credited in your game.

2. Your game must uphold the U of M and MSU standards of inclusivity, tact, and general all around positive-feeling! Use common sense, and avoid depicting offensive material. If we determine that your game grossly violates U of M and/or MSU values, you will be disqualified. 

3. Have fun, be kind! Let the officers know if you have any questions or concerns!

Judging

Games will be voted on by the participants, and the top three games will be announced!

Games will also be judged by the 5 categories below:

• Use of Theme
• Gameplay, Mechanics
• Style, Polish, Aesthetic
• Music, SFX, Audio
• Most Innovative

Each game will be ranked for each category, and each category holds equal weight.
