Welcome to MGDM Jam 2024, our first weekend game jam hosted by Middlesbrough Game Dev Meetup! MGDM Jam is here to promote you trying out new things, make new friends and have fun! This jam is also to celebrate our 1 year anniversary of MGDM, and is here to bring the local community together to celebrate all things games. There will be no voting or winners so that everyone can feel free to create whatever they want without any pressure, however we will have a final showcase at the end of the weekend for people to wind down and see each others creations!

Feel free to post during the weekend using the hashtag #mgdmjam and post about your progress online, or in the discord.

This jam runs from Friday 3rd May 6pm till Sunday 5th May 6pm, and will be entirely online on our discord. Join us there at our official discord!

WHO CAN ENTER?

Anyone from the local Middlesbrough area or the MGDM community can enter. Everyone from any level is able to join, both students and devs, either as a group or solo dev. We encourage people to meet new people and try out new things where they can!

THEME

Two-Sided

Theme is to be announced on the Friday of the Jam start. It will then be posted on here for later reference.

RULES

- No NSFW games or content
- Games need to be created during the Jam
- You can use any assets, as long as you have the correct license or agreement to use them
- Your game can be either a web or .exe game
- We ask you post in the discord at least once during the weekend to show you are taking part. This can be to announce you're taking part, ask some questions, ask for feedback, or join in on our announcement event

SCHEDULE

Friday 6pm - Announcement of theme and general introduction to the Jam in discord, in #MGDM Stage
Friday 6:30pm - Official Jam Start!
Saturday 5pm - Weekend check in. Optional chance to show off games and get feedback from others, as well as just to take a break and see what others are creating!
Sunday 6pm - Jam Finishes. Optional wind down in #MGDM Stage and Showcase of final games! We will ask at least one person from each team to come up and tell us about their game if they want to.
