Theme: Don't Step Into The Light

Rules:

  • The game MUST incorporate the theme in some way. The theme will be revealed at the opening event, taking place in Stetson 152 at 5:00 PM on April 2, 2026. The theme will also be announced on Discord shortly after the event.
  • The game must be made within the duration of the jam. Late submissions or submissions that were made before the event started will not be considered for prizes. There will be NO exceptions.
  • There is no limit on the maximum team size. Participants can also compete alone. If competing in a team, be aware that the prize will be split between you and your team.
  • You are free to use any assets or code that you have the right to use.
  • However, avoid the use of Artificial Intelligence** for the creation of your game. This includes art, music, code, etc. Games suspected of AI will not be considered for prizes, and if you are competing for extra credit, your professor will be notified.
  • As well as this, if you follow a tutorial, do not directly copy it. Directly copying a tutorial will disqualify you from prizes, and if you're competing for extra credit, your professor will be notified.
  • No NSFW content.

Please note: The club reserves the right to withhold awards from any submission that, in the judgment of our faculty advisor and/or judges, exploits unintended loopholes or circumvents the spirit of the rules.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded based on the consensus of a panel of judges.

The prizes will be as follows:

  • First Place: Up to $55 worth of Steam games of your choice, awarded as Steam keys.
  • Second Place: Up to $40 worth.
  • Third Place: Up to $20 worth.

Please keep in mind that the total dollar amount will be distributed equally among members of your team. So, the larger the team, the smaller the individual payout.

Extra Credit:
For students participating in the jam for extra credit, you will be required to fill out a form after you've successfully submitted to the jam. We will use that form to send out the list of students who submitted to the jam to your respective professors. Additionally, your submission needs to show a good-faith effort towards making a game for you to be eligible for extra credit. Notice the emphasis on effort and not just result; it can't be something like a blank window.

Here is the form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdJXiWrDhOyS8wD7lCh5rs3TfJAa0iMos2y-WAZ...

Submission:

Unless you're submitting a browser-playable version of your game, try to submit for all three major operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux.

**Use of Artificial Intelligence in the creation of your game will be considered cheating and will result in dismissal from the club and expulsion from the Discord.
