Welcome to the MetaFest VR Jam #2, a three-week-long jam focused specifically on creating VR games. With the barrier for entry getting lower and lower for VR development, it's my hope that others will be able to use this jam to motivate themselves and start learning how to develop for VR, just like I did.

You can join the MetaFest Discord server here: https://discord.gg/mzmSHJN

The theme of the jam is:

Create a VR game centered around a loop, loops, or looping!

All headsets are allowed

Keep in mind that the more headsets your game works with, the more people will be able to play and accurately rate your game.

All engines, libraries, and frameworks are allowed

This includes Unity, Unreal, Godot, LÖVR, A-Frame, three.js, or anything else capable of producing playable VR content.

All assets are allowed with proper licensing

Note that this is not an invitation for low-effort asset flips. Any necessary attributions should be made where appropriate.

You can work solo or in a team

Check the community tab or the Discord server to connect with others.

No sexual content

Anything non-sexual but potentially still too extreme will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Submissions must be made during the jam period

Reuse of old code or assets is allowed. What isn't allowed is a fully completed game being uploaded on day 3 that was actually finished weeks or even months ago. This jam is for creating new games, not promoting your old ones. Any submissions that violate this rule will be removed.

Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:

Theme

How well does this submission incorporate the theme of the jam?

Gameplay

How well does the game handle? How engaging is the gameplay?

Visuals

How good does the game look? How well does the visual style work?

Audio

How does the game sound? How well does the audio aid immersion?

Polish

How "finished" does the game feel? How  well do the elements of the game work together?

Overall

Your overall rating of the game, taking into account all previous ratings.
