Here are some idea's to get your creative juices pumping for all of the themes! But remember at the end of the day the theme is whatever you make it. 
Feel free to mix these themes! Mixing = Bonus points. At the end of the jam you will receive a questionnaire, Let us know what themes you mixed their!


  • HORROR IDEAS :

    Weird-Core: Explore a distorted town where objects don’t behave logically / doors loop back, NPCs speak in riddles, and normal rules of physics twist at random.

    Deception: An investigation game where every clue could be false, and NPCs actively lie. The player must decide who to trust, with the wrong choice leading to danger.

  • Darkness: A survival experience where light is the only resource. Areas without light are lethal, and players must manage dwindling torches to push deeper into the unknown.



  • COZY IDEA'S :

    Snow : A cozy village builder where you keep the townsfolk warm through crafting, cooking and decorating while snow piles!


  • Nature : A gentle exploration game where you restore a forest by planting, watering, and befriending animals as the world slowly comes back to life!

  • Fuzz/Fuzzy: A creature care game where you raise fluffy creatures that can help gather you items that can make your home feel alive!



  • FANTASY IDEAS:

    Lonely : A wandering hero who travels through a vast and empty world, solving small puzzles and surviving without allies until they uncover a hidden civilization!


  • Dragon's: A game where you either build trust of a dragon and raise it as a pet or even a game where you fight a dragon in a boss battle!


  • Low Magic: A world where spells are rare, Each on is powerful but dangerous, Forcing players to decide the appropriate time to use said spell!

    Voting Criteria

    Winners will be chosen by the Drop Bear Community Jam team. We’ll be judging based on:

    Creativity

    Polish

    Theme interpretation

    Overall fun

    Mechanic Implementation

    Special Object

    We’ll announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and play the winning games live on stream. The games remain your property, but by submitting to this jam you grant us permission to stream them and feature them as content on our social media platforms. You’re welcome to join the fun on our Twitch, or just wait until we share the announcement on Discord.

    Submission Rules

    Game must run in browser (HTML5 / WebGL) ( YOU CAN UPLOAD A DOWNLOADABLE GAME - however) – Downloads are accepted, but browser based is strongly preferred due to the fact that most people will most likely not download your game due to Malware reason's.

    Assets : can be reused or flipped, but must credit original creators

    RPG Maker users: You must include some original art

    We encourage everyone to make as much of their assets as possible

    No NSFW content: If you would not send it to your boss., do not post it here.

    Updating: You can update your game up until the voting begins!

    AI : Clarify if you have used AI please, This way people can vote on the section AI was used based on a case to case opinion. AI is only to be utilized as a tool. No full AI implementations. This includes Art, Audio and Full AI Created Programming.

    Submission :  You can only submit to this jam. It can not be to multiple.
