This is a game jam about comedy... but not the written kind. Instead, I want to see your games with 'mechanical jokes'!

What is a Mechanical Joke?

A mechanical joke is any game mechanic that (hopefully) makes the player laugh. Some examples:

1. Physical comedy (it's hard to control the character in a ridiculous way, for example)
2. Setup and punchline (setup expectations for how the game works in the players' heads, then subvert those expectations)
3. Take something to the absurd (take an idea, and have it become increasingly bizarre over the course of the game)
4. Some other funny thing!

Main Rules:

1. Your game must have some sort of Mechanical Joke, as explained above. While comedic writing is fine, if that's the only thing in your game it doesn't fit this jam.
   
2. Your submission must be a game of some sort, but how you define "game" is up to you... feel free to make a video game or a board game or whatever!
3. Your game should probably be short: ideally five minutes or less. 
   1. This isn't really a rule, and more of a suggestion. So is the next rule, to be honest.
4. Keep your scope small! Make something in three hours or something! Just because you have a bunch of weeks doesn't mean you have to use them all.

Things I don't joke about: 

• NSFW content is not allowed.  Games that include profanity, nudity, sexuality or any other NSFW content will be removed.
• Racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/etc content also is not tolerated.  Violators will be reported.
