ODU's Game Design, Development, and Criticism program, in conjunction with VMASC and ODU's Video Game Design Club, is pleased to announce Mars Jam, the official game jam of the 2022 Mars Fest. 

Participants and teams have seven days, from October 7 to October 14, 2022, to design video games that are out of this world. Finished games will be featured at the Last Resort Video Game Arcade on the last day of Mars Fest, October 16, 2022.

Theme:
The Last Resort Bar in Paul Verhoeven's 1990 feature film, Total Recall, offers everything that a time-challenged Austrian space-farer might need or want on their first visit to Mars---good food, good drinks, good music, and good company.

There's only one thing missing, however. There's nary a video game in sight!  

Your challenge---if you choose to accept it---is to create a late 1980s themed video game that will make money for the Last Resort Bar. 

Rules:
1.) You have seven days to finish and submit your game.
2.) You can use any game engine or program to create your game.
3.) Games must be IBM compatible and playable upon submission.
4.) Games can be no larger than 1GB (the Itch.io limit).
5.) All games must by submitted by 11:59pm on Friday, October 14, 2022.
6.) We will showcase the games at 7pm on Sunday, October 16, at the Total Recall Video Game Arcade during the 2022 Mars Fest.
