Mint Moods: Made To Be Played

A community about getting indie games seen, played, and talked about.

A lot of indie games disappear into the void after being made.

This community exists to drag them back out of the void and put them in front of real people.

Mint Mood is a community focused indie dev stream, platform, where we play games live, showcase creators, give honest feedback, and celebrate any games at every skill level.

This is not about making the most perfect and best selling game possible.

It is about making something playable, sharing it, and having people actually experience it.

Who Is This Jam For?

ANY AND EVERYONE!<3

Whether you’re making:

your first game ever

a messy prototype

a weird experimental project

a horror game made at 3am

a tiny emotional story

a silly arcade thing

a beautiful little nature sim

or something completely impossible to explain

we wanna see it.

What Makes This Different?

A lot of jams are built mostly around competition.

Mint Moods is built around community, creativity, feedback, discovery, and giving smaller games a proper chance to be played.

The stream is a big part of that.

Games from the jam wil ALL be played live on stream, talked through with the developer if they’re in chat, and given feedback in a relaxed, friendly, honest way.

Not scary IGN reviewer energy. More like “let’s actually play this and see what up.”

Duration

10 Days

(there will be a late grace period of 24hrs after the jam ends to submit your game late)

Theme

The theme will be announced when the jam begins.

You can interpret it literally, emotionally, mechanically, visually, conceptually, beautifully, or in a way that only makes sense to you.

As long as the theme helped shape the game somehow, you’re good.

Rules

  • Your game should be made mainly during the jam period.
  • Any engine, framework, or tool is allowed.
  • The use of generative AI for audiovisual content is forbidden.
  • There is no maximum team size.
  • Your game must be available for free during the jam.
  • Please credit any third party assets, music, fonts, sounds, tools, or resources you use.
  • Be respectful to other developers and players.

Rating & Feedback

The ratings are not here to make people feel bad.

They are here to help developers understand what worked, what stood out, and what could be improved.

Fun / Feel

Was it enjoyable to play? Did it feel good, interesting, funny, tense, satisfying, or memorable?

Creativity

Did the game do something unusual, charming, clever, personal, or weird in a good way?

Execution

How well did the idea come together? Were the mechanics, level design, pacing, and overall structure working?

Presentation

How did the game look, sound, and feel as a complete little experience?

Theme Use

How clearly or creatively did the game use the jam theme?

Live Stream Showcases and community

One of the biggest parts of Mint Mood is actually getting indie games played in front of real people instead of disappearing into the void after release.

Outside the jam, the community regularly hangs out in stream and discord while we play smaller indie games, prototypes, unfinished builds, weird experiments, rough gems, and games that just need some actual eyes on them.

The streams are very casual.

This is not “serious reviewer mode” or pretending to be IGN.

I just play games properly, talk shit, react honestly, give thoughts, and try to have a laugh while still giving useful feedback along the way.

People in chat can submit their games to the wheel while the stream is live, and we spin it to decide what gets played next. If your game gets picked, you’re removed from the wheel for the rest of that stream so everyone gets a fair chance, but you can always come back next stream and enter again.

Being in chat while your game is played is heavily encouraged.

It makes feedback much better, lets people ask questions directly to the developer, and honestly just makes the whole thing way more fun for everyone involved.

any and everygame can be submitted from something youve worked on for 1 minute to a fully fleged steam game!! and every and anything inbetween!

Make Something Playable

Make something small.

Make something strange.

Make something rough but full of personality.

Make something people can actually play.

I know how hard it is to finnish somthing asnd carry on though the hardships so i hope youll do your best!<3

cos that’s the whole point.

See you in the jam.
