When you live somewhere for a long time it can be easy to assume that it is boring, but everywhere has a story. Use local history, myths and legends, and the layout and geography of where you live or grew up as the basis for creation.

This jam is for any kind of game or game resource; TTRPG systems and supplements, video games, art packs for other creators to use, anything you like as long as it is inspired by something local to you. Look at things you see everyday with fresh eyes and you'd be amazed what ideas might strike.

I am also a member of the TTRPG Collective Discord Server, where there is a thread for this game jam. If you would like to join to discuss your ideas on there, please do.

Rules:

Keep it on theme

If you can include your inspiration in either your game or the game description that would be appreciated. It doesn't have to be in too much detail, but just a small 'this spaceship map is based on my local mall's layout' helps me to know that you're not just entering into any jam you see.

You may enter games/resources that have been previously created or submitted to other jams as long as they were inspired by something local to you.

Inspiration may be as specific as setting the game entirely in your home town, but does not have to be, local legends and history can be transposed to many different settings.

No AI

Submissions that include music, art, writing, or anything else that was generated by AI will not be allowed.

Don't be a bigot

No racist, homo/bi/transphobic, sexist, pro-fascism, etc works will be accepted. These themes are allowed to be present as antagonistic forces, but any submissions that are hateful or harmful to a marginalised group of people will be removed.

Label your games/resources appropriately

18+ submissions are acceptable but please make it clear that they are not appropriate for younger people. Similarly, if your submission will be covering themes or topics that may be upsetting to others then please note this.
