a lo- themed game jam
What is a game jam?
You try to make a video game from scratch in a limited timeframe, independently, or in teams. Participants are generally programmers, game designers, artists, writers, and others in game development-related fields. -Wikipedia
How long is the jam?
69 hours - one weekend
What is the theme?
Lo- is the general theme.
But there will also be a special theme announced at the start of each jam. It is not mandatory to include it, but it is one of the categories in the judging.
What can I make my game in?
Anything, as long as it can be played on Windows or browsers, and doesn't require additional hardware or software.
What assets can I use?
The game should be developed from scratch during the jam, but you may use pre-existing code and whatever art and audio you have the right to use.
You _may_ use free assets from third parties, but always credit content you didn't create yourself.
You _may_ use AI to generate code and content.
Can I update my game after the deadline?
Yes, you may fix bugs after the deadline. You may not add new content or features though. Please write your changes in a short post then. Some may have already played your game, but at least it won‘t be a problem for future players.
After the voting period, of course, you can do whatever you want with your game.
Who will judge the games?
Lcm himself and other staff members.
Participants can also vote on other entries.
Who can enter?
Anyone, from anywhere. Solo or in a team.
You don't have to be a programmer to join!
There are many areas in which you can contribute:
Artist: For those who want to create art assets and establish the visuals of their game, be it 2D or 3D.
Designer: For those who have ideas, want to craft their game's player experience and finetune its gameplay.
Musician: For those who want to make music and/or implement SFX into their games.
Programmer: For those who want to write the code and tools to make their game a reality.
Writer: For those who want to develop a lore and bring a bit of text into the game.
