The Game Creators Space, or GCS, is a Game Development Club and Workplace focused on building Community, Experience, and Great Games! 

What is The Lightning Jam?

Back when we were rebranding, a couple of students wanted a game jam! The Lightning Jam was a short project aimed at honing game dev skills and practicing for our more serious jams, but entries to The Lightning Jam will be considered for The NAITSA Club Showcase as part of our club table! It's a great way to help support the club, and get experience with making games!

What are the rules?

Lightning Jam 2 is on from Friday 6:00 P.M. to Sunday 6:15 P.M - we'll consider late submissions on a case-by-case basis. The jam is open to any person or entity who is able to follow our Code of Conduct found on our discord - which pretty much states, don't be a jerk. Submissions must credit any party who participated on the Game Jam entry. This jam is not exclusive to NAIT students - we encourage any community member to join - even members of other clubs! We'll be sure to give you all credit as members of respective clubs or groups. :)

The code used in this project must be created for the purpose of this project and can't have been used in a previous project. Do not use any asset you do not have permission to use.

What if I don't like the theme?

In the spirit of Game Jams, please try to incorporate the theme into your game in some way! Game jam themes are meant to be interpreted by the jammer though, so feel free to incorporate it in whatever way works best!
