Welcome everyone to our first Game Jam, hosted ever - Press Start Game Jam!

This is a 48-hour-long video game development jam that marks the birth of the student team Level Up Lab at the Polytechnic University of Turin. We are the first Italian student organization born to develope videogames. 

What could be the best way to inaugurate this team if not organizing a game jam?

Our goals are simple: to enjoy ourselves, try out new things, meet new people, and dive headfirst into this exciting world.

The members of our team will definitely participate, but this jam is open to all members of our Discord server. You can join us through this link.

Wildcards are an optional limitation to add a unique challenge in addition to the theme. Pick one, none, or all; it’s up to you! Ignoring wildcards entirely will not affect the result of your sumbission.

  Create a game where the player is properly rewarded after a challenge

Like most of the events, there are also some rules you have to follow during the jam at all times.

• During this game jam there will be neither winners nor losers, the aim is to challenge oneself and create a game while having fun
• No NSFW games.
• You can only participate if you're on our Discord server, as that's where all announcements and updates will be posted.
• There is no limit to the size of the teams.
• You can use any asset (including fonts) from the internet as long as you have the correct license for it, for all your assets you need to link it in description.
• Show your credits in the description like names of your teammates and the roles of your team, and preferrably the assets that you have used.
• Games that are or were made before the jam, are either disqualified or need to be remade on the time of the event with the relevance of the theme.

Will individuals in Turin have access to a physical space to work on Saturday or Sunday? 

• Officially, as a student team, we haven't booked any place, but every group is free to organize independently.

Can I participate even if I've never developed a video game in my life?

• Certainly, this will be an excellent opportunity for you to challenge yourself and meet new people. If you're not already part of a group but are interested in joining one, write on the designated channel of our Discord server, and we'll help you find a team to join.
