Important: Last minute update

Due date for entries updated from 31 August 2021 to 5th September 2021. Summarizing: there are 5 extra days.

The rationale for this is the mismatch between the number of contestants and entries. 20 contestans, and only 5 entries. We believe that this might be related to the due date being in weekdays and not in a weekend when people have more time (no work or studies), and some participants might have missed the date. So we are extending the time to this weekend. To be fair with everyone: in this time current entries are allowed to be updated and improved, people that missed the date can send their entries, and new participants, even having less time than other participants, can also join if they want. Thanks for your underestanding, and good luck everyone!

This time, KorGE Gamejam is going to be a month and a half challenge to develop a game in KorGE, which is 100% Kotlin.

You can learn more about KorGE here: https://korge.org/

Who can join?

Anyone who wants to participate. You can work alone or in a team. Game entries must be written in KorGE Game Engine no other engines can't be used for this JAM. The game must be published as JS or JVM, preferring a JS version working in the browser.

Theme and genre

The genre is not limited; you can choose it yourself.

On Thrusday 15th of July we will post the JAM's theme/topic on the following channels:

Prizes

  • 1st : 400 €
  • 2nd: 200 €
  • 3rd: 100 €
  • Special prize: 100 €

Lottery

  • 50€ Amazon Gift Card

We will randomly choose a twitter user at the end of the contest that retweeted this tweet and follows @KorgeGameEngine on twitter. To prevent spam and fake accounts, only users with at least 15 followers and 6 months will be taken into account, if we suspect that the winner account is a bot or a fake account, we will select the next user until we find a valid one.

Rules

The winners must publish the source code of their KorGE game after the JAM. Their work will be linked and credited on the KorGE website and all KorGE media channels. Other participants are not forced to publish the source code, but that would be appreciated and their work will be linked and credited under the same terms as the winner's projects.

Judgement

Members of the KorGE organization will judge your work and determine the winners.

Additionally we are opening this time a public votation. The game that scores highest that is not already one of the three winners, will receive a special prize of 100€.

Votations will be made early in September, and the prizes will be given ideally during September or October as much.

Code of conduct

In KorGE we really value diversity and want this JAM to be an inclusive, harassment-free contest where everyone, independently to their gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion etc. is welcome and should and will be respected the same including participants, organizers, sponsors and anyone related to the event.
