Henry Kissinger, a notorious U.S. diplomat responsible for millions of deaths, is dead. He is described as a "war criminal" in various news outlets.
He is responsible for prolonging the Vietnam War, and was behind the U.S. army's carpet bombing operations in both Vietnam and Cambodia, a neutral country in the war. The bombings themselves have killed at least hundreds of thousands of civilians, displacing many more. The bombing in Cambodia destabilised the country, which lead to Khmer Rouge taking over and the Cambodian genocide.
With Kissinger as national security advisor and secretary of state, the U.S. backed genocidal dictators in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Argentina resulted in the Bangladesh genocide, the East Timor genocide and the Dirty War in Argentina.
He plotted to overthrow the democratically elected Chilean government, and later backed the military coup in the country and supported the military junta's dictatorship, where tens of thousands of people were tortured or executed, and hundreds of thousands exiled or missing.
