Hi. This is the first iteration of the JustMakeAGame jam. The purpose of this game jam, in particular, is to serve as a 1-week timer for you to make game prototypes. If you have been looking for something to fill the void, feeling unmotivated, or just downright lazy, then this simple game jam should get you productive.
There are no restrictions here - use whatever tools you need to complete your game prototype. However, please abide by these legal stipulations - Credit your assets used. JustMakeAGame jam will not be responsible for any infringements caused during the jam period.
There's no theme here. Really, this game jam is just serving as another way you get you productive. To cover other legal grounds -
The project ownership of each project belongs to whoever develops them. JustMakeAGame jam does not claim ownership over any submissions, and will not be responsible for any disputes caused during the jam period.
Please join the Discord Server (link below this line) for ease of communication and updates to the jam.

This isn't something I can control, but please start your project only after the jam has started.
Since there's no fixed theme, voting will be based on these criteria -
Gameplay Functionality (functionality of game elements, etc)
Gameplay Design (how the game is played, game loop, core mechanics, etc)
UI (Ease of use, intuitiveness, etc)
Visuals (Graphical quality, artistic quality, etc)
Sound (Audio impact, music immersion, etc)
Optionally, if you'd like to open up your project for more voting points, you can also opt-in for open-sourcing your prototype's entire code for review. Please be reminded of the nature of open-sourcing before you do this. Open-source is common in tech, but if you'd prefer to keep as many of the project to yourself, then please don't select this option. To select this option, just state it in clear text intention with your submission.
By the way, everyone will be allowed to vote one another once voting commences.
Submission Details -
Please make sure you are developing for Windows
If your game is primarily software - An .exe of your game
Additionally - Source code of your project if you have opted-in for the open-source review
If your game is primarily deployed on physical mediums (board games, etc) - A documentation of your game
Game jams can be an intense commitment depending on what kind of life you are living. Please remember to take care of yourself.
