The premise of the John Jam is simple- on 4/4/25 I will have a birthday party where we play all the games made in the John Jam. Games will be submitted here and can be any type- video games, tabletop games, ttrpgs, sports, you name it! So long as it can be played submitted on this website you're good to go! Here's the catch- participants must collaborate with me, John, in order to create the game!

I have invited a decent number of people to participate in this event, but reasonably I think I only have the bandwidth to make 4-8 games in the next calendar year, so this means a couple of things:

1. The time we spend working on the game will be limited. Something in the neighborhood of 1-4 weeks of work at 2-8 hours a week. Making this game should be FUN and should fit in nicely with whatever other stuff you have going on.
2.  You'll probably be working in a group. After I receive availability and sign ups from everyone who is interested I will assign groups based on who I think would work well together and who has compatible availability.
3.  You will  need to do some John Wrangling! That John is a slippery one and he's really not interested in #TheBurdenOfLeadership, so if you choose to participate you and your group will need to take responsibility for moving the ball forward and actively reaching out to collaborate with John and make the game. Depending on sign ups, I will give you a suggested time period this year to work on the game, but it will be up to you to coordinate and schedule any specific meetings or milestones.
4.  The game really can be anything! This does not need to be a big time or energy commitment, as long as you and John are both excited about the game it then it will be great! If you only have bandwidth to meet one time for 20 minutes, then we could totally just reinvent Go-fish or something.

Most importantly, please don't feel pressured to commit to this. This should be a fun joyful activity, but if you aren't interested or available that's totally ok!
