Welcome, game creators, to Jam Quest 2024! We're thrilled to have you join this annual game-making marathon where creativity knows no bounds. Whether you're an individual developer or part of a team, get ready to embark on a week long journey of game development. Let's explore the unexpected, challenge norms, and enjoy making games together!

Key Information:


Who Can Enter: Anyone, regardless of age or location. Solo developers and teams are both welcome.

Development Tools: Use any platform or engine as long as you can upload a file runnable on Windows or browsers without additional hardware or software requirements.

Assets: Develop your game during the jam. You may utilize pre-existing code and legal art and audio assets. Please refrain from using AI-generated assets or code.

Submission Time: You can submit your game at any time after the jam begins. Early submissions allow updates until the jam's closure.

Judges: 

The Games will be scored & judged by our some youtubers you might recognize!


Queble: A fellow Tutorial Maker :) Queble has made a handful of EXTREMELY useful videos for the Godot Community!

StayAtHomeDev: The go-to Godot Community Builder. I like to see StayAtHomeDev as the guy who really loves to build and bring our community together!

Gwizz: Another fellow Tutorial Creator! Gwizz has popped out of no where, pumping out videos some of didn't know we needed until now! 

GameDev w/ David: David has made a few games & Few Devlogs in the past, but just recently started dipping his toes into the tutorial market!

MrEliptik:  Eliptik makes lots of video's for game developers who need general tips!

Prizes: An adventurer must always be rewarded for their quest, so here are the tiers:

1st place: $100

2nd place: $50

3rd place: $25 

How will The Games Be Judged?:


Gameplay and Fun Factor:

  • How engaging and enjoyable is the gameplay? Consider factors like mechanics, controls, and overall user experience.
  • Is the game easy to understand and play, or does it have a steep learning curve?
  • Does the game provide a sense of challenge and reward? How well does it keep players entertained?

Innovation and Creativity:

  • How original and innovative is the concept of the game? Does it bring something new or unique to the table?
  • Consider the creativity in game design, storyline, characters, and overall theme.
  • Does the game demonstrate creativity within the constraints of a one-week development period?

Technical Execution:

  • Evaluate the technical aspects of the game, including graphics, sound, and performance.
  • How polished is the game in terms of bug-free gameplay and smooth functionality?
  • Consider the efficiency of code, use of technology, and how well the game utilizes the chosen platform.
