Participation

Jammin' Jamuary 2026 is an interdisciplinary jam that allows you to create pretty much anything you want! The goal is to get your creativity flowing in whichever way you feel most comfortable.

  • No matter your skill, we encourage you to join the fun! This jam is the perfect opportunity to create:
    • visual art,
    • sounds,
    • narrative,
    • games,
    • 3D-printed models,
    • crochet creatures,
    • etc. (anything you can submit here on itch)
  • We strongly recommend you incorporate the theme into your creation!
  • If you would like to form a team, you are welcome to use our 'collaborate' forum on Discord.
  • Use the hashtag #JamminJamuary on social media to share updates and links to your projects. Similarly, you can use that tag to find this game jam on itch.io.

Submissions

You may submit your creation anytime between January 15th and January 21st.

Requirements:

1. No AI-generated audio/visuals are allowed.  However, free, open-source artwork is perfectly acceptable and encouraged to speed up your development time.  If you use open-source resources, provide details and links about them.

2. If making a game, your game must be playable in a web browser.  Unity and Godot are excellent candidate game engines for this, but you are free to use any engine you desire.

3. If you work as part of a team, list all contributors on your entry's page.

We highly advise you create new content for this jam - submitting previous projects makes no sense.

Voting

  • Voting begins when the submission window closes and ends January 26th.
  • Winners will be announced in our January 26th virtual meeting on Discord!
  • Entries will be voted on the following criteria:
    • Spark - Originality and Creativity
    • Flow - Execution and Craft
    • Vibe - Emotional Impact
    • Shine - Presentation and Aesthetics
    • Theme - Interpretation of Jam Theme

See the scoring rubric (Google doc)

Updates to fix bugs will be allowed during voting, but refrain from adding new content until voting is over.

The voting queue will be enabled to randomize the games presented to voters.
