Games matter. Can a game reduce loneliness, build empathy, and support recovery?
Over one weekend, interdisciplinary teams design and prototype games of every kind (board, card, and video) that reshape how people understand serious mental health conditions. You won't be doing it from the outside: mentors with lived experience, clinicians, and researchers work right alongside you.
Mentors in the room: office hours all weekend with game designers, clinicians, researchers, and people with lived experience.
Any kind of game: board, card, or digital. The format is yours; the goal is connection, reduced isolation, and recovery.
Showcase & judging: present your prototype to judges and the community on Sunday.
Fed the whole time: Chipotle, pizza, midnight donuts, bagels, snack rounds, and a catered finale.
First-timers welcome: a rules read-through and mentor intros get everyone started together.
Find your team: arrive with a crew or form one during Saturday's team finalization and mingling.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The jam is free to enter, and food is provided all weekend.
Do I need experience or a team?
Neither. All skill levels are welcome, and you can form a team on Saturday.
Does it have to be a video game?
No. Board, card, and video games all count.
Do I have to attend in person?
Yes, participants take part on-site at Clark University. Only mentors may join virtually.
