IndieDEV.space is where tiny indie teams have banded together around the common cause: being independent. We know that itch.io is filled with tiny teams like this, with games already available or that they are working on.
We want little teams and individuals to submit their favorite indie game to us to judge. See below for criteria and how it will be judged.
This is an ongoing jam, for 4 years baby! Submit now or soon!
Why so long? The reason it is a multi-year submission period is to experiment with permitting a wide array of submissions over a long period of time, and to extend the marketing visibility of the developers. Submitting earlier only increases the time you are visible as a member of this jam!
Visit us on our Discord (https://discord.gg/RPZnQwN4SK) to help build a new fire in the Indie Game space.
Basically, when you click the "Join Jam" button on the Jam link, it will let you enter some marketing information and submit a project that is on Itch. Jam games are usually freebies. Anyone who submits can vote on anyone else. This is a jury of your peers, with some manual ranking done in the end.
You have until 4/20/2028 to submit your game to be judged. There will be more than one winner. In fact, you'll all be winners because you participated in an independent game jam that, like you, is made from the ground up by individuals who just care and love indie games.
Games will be judged until 7/4/2028 when winners and votes are finalized.
Keep in mind we are all "winners" ... There is no grand prize, but it gives you a new way to showcase your game!
Submission details:
Game may have been submitted to other jams, but should be a polished, final product that showcases your work as an independent game developer. Games should have had a shoestring budget, barely any marketing, and be created by small groups or individuals.
Required: Games that are friendly. Our guidelines for entry is that games cannot be overtly sexualized, and they cannot be hateful targeting any group or individual. They should be fun, friendly games. They can be gory, horrific or deal with mature themes, but they cannot be pornographic, contain restricted imagery or are profoundly based on political hate. If yours is, perhaps it is best suited for something else, rather than this Jam.
Games will be judged by:
Everyone gets to use the marketing aspect of #indiedevspace in their submission, on your social media, as a badge of honor and to support other indie developers just like you! Submissions are shown on this page immediately! This is a grass roots movement. Your submission and your posting to social media helps everyone else in the Jam!
Note, if your game/studio has a large budget, maybe pick a different game to submit that doesn't have a budget. We'd prefer freebies, not games that are well-funded big-A or AA or AAA. We're talking "little A" "tiny A" or just "A game" made by "A person" :D
