FAQs
- Can we start early?
- As we are running on an honor code, we ask that you not begin any coding or asset creation until after the kickoff has occurred. But you may begin pre-production work such as reference gathering, idea logging, and documentation about what you want to do.
- Is this only for video games?
- No! Board games, card games, roleplaying games, outdoor games, interactive stories, any type of game counts!
- Who can participate?
- For this particular jam, anyone at i3! Whether you work as an ISD and love making role playing games, or you're an accountant who loves writing stories, anyone can participate! The goal is to learn and have fun. You do not have to already know how to make games.
- How long will the event last?
- Approximately 9 days, so you have 2 weekends and 1 set of week nights to find time to work on your project.
- What if I have never made a game before?
- Then this is the perfect time to learn! Explore a new skill or hone an old one, experiment and grow yourself - that's the point of a game jam.
- Can we team up with others?
- Absolutely! Making a game is hard, so bringing friends in can make it alot more fun.
- Who owns the games we make?
- You do! Just be sure to do your work on your equipment and on your time so there's no gray area.
