The killing of George Floyd has triggered a worldwide wave of outrage against racism and police brutality. We’re calling our fellow artists to join the movement in the streets and through our work.

The killing of George Floyd has awakened the anger of tens of thousands of people across the world, who are organizing protests against police brutality and institutional racism, chanting « I can’t breathe », « Black Lives Matter » or « No justice, no peace ! ». These slogans have echoed across borders from the US to Germany, Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands or France, where they have been picked up by thousands of protesters. In cities across the world, all these movements demand justice and truth for George Floyd and all the victims of the police.

As artists, we want to contribute to the movement against racism, police brutality and terror, driven internationally by protestors in the streets and on social media around the #ICantBreathe and #BlackLivesMatter hashtags. As the movement has already built new bridges with various sectors, like bus drivers, healthcare workers or the LGBT community, we want to take part in the movement as art and culture workers in Argentina, in France, in Brazil and everywhere in the world, both in the streets and the way we know : our art.

We demand truth and justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery in the US, for Adama Traoré, Théo, Zineb Rédouane, Zyed, Bouna in France, and for all the victims of police brutality across the world.

In response to an international call for artistic contributions initiated by www.revolutionpermanente.com, I organize this jam in support to the movements against racism and police brutality.

All contributions are welcome, be them short or long experiences, and amateur or pro level. If you are interested in helping translate this to other languages, please contact me.
