Yes, anybody can participate - even if you're a beginner with no idea where to start. We all started learning about game development by participating in game jams and hackathons. We know what it's like to be a beginner and have no idea where to start. So we decided that we should provide our participants with great resources:

Most of the people in our team took this course in order to get started with game design. It teaches you the fundamentals of Unity, C#, and the Game Design process.

RULES

  • We highly encourage you to design your own assets, however, buying a pack on the internet is not restricted. If you have bought a pack from the internet you are required to specify the resource. We expect participants to comply to the rules of the game.
  • You can develop your game in any platform. There are no restrictions. Just keep in mind the Coursera courses will focus on Unity
  • The resolution of the game must be 16:10 (1600:1000 px) or 16:9 (1600:900 px).
  • We recommend you to work with teams of up to 4 people but you're also free to do it solo. 
  • Your entry must not contain NSFW + offensive (sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc.) content. Keep it classy!
