Hey, ATX Game Makers, it’s high time we have our own game jam!

To kick off the 2023 new year, we are hosting an in-person game makin’ jam-a-thon the weekend of January 20th! So clear out your schedule and dust off those creative hats to join a game jam-a-thon serving two purposes, getting us out of the house to make games together and fundraising to increase a budget for future, larger events throughout the year.

ATX Game Makers is a 501c3 organization with the goal of creating a community that empowers its members to join the game industry. We achieve this through meetups, education, resume/portfolio reviews and mentorship. Throughout the year we hold several events to help bring opportunities for our community members to find jobs in the industry or create their own games and BE the industry! Events like this game jam-a-thon are one of them!

The Hibernation Jam – A -Thon’s fundraising goal is 8,000.00 USD to create more events and generate content for the community, one that expands inclusion for diverse game developers in the ATX area and beyond!

Hibernation Jam – A – Thon

The theme for this year’s jam is HIBERNATION! We Texans don’t deal with the cold very well…  ALL levels of folks are encouraged to come out of hibernation and participate. Come together meet your fellow game makers and make something awesome… or absurd!

There will be food and drinks provided (no alcohol allowed).

Don’t forget your inventory. Bring your own equipment to jam. That means laptops, desktop, monitors, graphics tablets, mice, cords, and your coding rubber ducky if you’ve got one! We will be in a secure office building, so you won’t need to cart your equipment home each night.

To help everyone have a great time, familiarize yourself with our code of conduct and please be welcomed to contact our organizers, Donald Harris or Theresa Pudenz with any concerns.

Thank you again for being part of this community and helping it grow and continue to be awesome. Thank you to Red Bull and Game Worlds for the support and partnership! We look forward to seeing what you all create, and I am looking forward to seeing y’all in person again!
