It's fall once again, so let's make more Halloween hexcrawls!

In the next month create a 1-ring system-agnostic hexflower that can be used on its own, dropped into a larger hexmap, or joined together with other jam entries to make an exquisite corpse-style hexcrawl.

Entries must be free or PWYW so folks can collect the flowers and assemble their own maps. (Each table's map will be different depending on which flowers they select and how they're placed!) If you want to make more than 1 hexflower go ahead, but keep the individual flowers separate by submitting them as multiple projects or as 1 project with multiple files.

Each entry must have:

  • 7 keyed hexes in a hexflower arrangement (1 central hex with 6 hexes surrounding it)
  • 1 town/settlement/inhabited place with NPCs
  • 1 dungeon of any size
  • 2 special locations (unique features or things to discover)
  • 1 hyper-local specialty/item/material that's unique to the area
  • A bestiary with 4 original monsters, 1 of which is unique (only one of them exists in the world)
  • An encounter list with 20 entries
  • Hand-drawn maps, done on paper then scanned or photographed

If you'd like inspiration or a starting point, check out the lists from the first Hexcrawloween.

The jam starts at midnight on October 1st and ends at midnight on November 3rd. And as before, if it looks like you won't be done by the deadline, upload what you have anyway as an ashcan.

No fash or bigots. No AI.

Be excellent to each other and have fun. I believe in you!
