The Heritage Jam first ran in 2014 as a way to bring together people from across all disciplines - from heritage professionals to artists, programmers, game designers and members of the general public - to compete and collaborate on short-term projects based around a central theme, which this year is "Museums and Collections".

The Jam is open to anyone and everyone and the only constraints for what you can create are the timeframe, theme and your imagination!

This year you can take part in the Jam as an individual or a team, online or in-person. The online portion of the Jam will run from the 20th of August to the 24th of September whilst the main event will be held at King's Manor, Department of Archaeology, University of York from the 25th to the 26th of September.
