Let's keep this brisk.

The Havoc Engine powers Eat the Reich, our game of monstrous and sexy undead kicking apart nazi scum on the streets of occupied Paris. (It also powers Goat Crashers and Havoc Brigade, but odds are you haven't heard of either of them.)

If you'd like to make a something using the engine, you're in luck - we've written a comprehensive guide on just how to do that, and we're also organising a jam about it, so that's nice isn't it.

You can download the Havoc Engine Toolkit via our website

Or get it through itch.io here.

You can also join our Discord, where we have a discussion channel dedicated to Havoc Engine design, here.

The jam starts on the 1st of March and runs for a month. During that time, you'll make your very own Havoc Engine game. (That's the hope, anyway.) It doesn't have to be about antifascist vampires - it doesn't even have to be especially action-packed. We reckon you can strongarm the dice mechanics into doing some pretty interesting things, and we'd love to see what you can come up with.

You can (and should!) make any of the below:

- An entirely original game using the Havoc Engine
- Some more characters or adventures for Eat the Reich
- A new mechanic for Havoc games you think is fun
- Characters or adversaries for someone else's Havoc Jam game (ask around!)
- Something else related to the Havoc Engine in general (convince us!)

Once the month is up, voting will be open for two weeks. Only folks who've taken part in the jam will be allowed to vote, which makes it all fairer.

Winners get... something. We don't know what yet. Something fun. But the prize isn't why you're here: you want to make something.

FAQ

Can I start before the jam begins?
Sure, whatever. I can't stop you. Doesn't feel sporting though, does it, so I'd keep quiet about the whole affair if I were you

Can I submit more than one entry?
Go hog wild. Probably better you focus on one good one than several naff ones though

Who has the rights to the game I design?
You do! You can do whatever you want with it. You have to credit us with the design of the base engine, though, or we'll cry

Do I have to follow the steps outlined in the workbook?
Nah
