➣ The hunting leathers you wear are powerless to stop the pervading chill that emanates from within you. The sallow light of your oil lamp is beginning to fade; each moment spent in the dying yellow is a moment wasted. And with each wasted moment, the braying in the woods draws closer and closer. Soon, distorted howls will tear from distended jaws, and in the shards of moonlight you will see forgotten creatures creeping on their many pointed limbs.
Is your rifle loaded? Do you even have a rifle?
Would it matter if you did?
Take a month and forge a sordid tale of those strange and forgotten corners of the earth. Capture the feeling of whispering pine needles and the crunching of dead leaves, create beasts that embody the grotesque depths of the natural world's savage ingenuity. Build around the theme of the hunt, as hunter, hunted, or something more.
