Hands Off Game Jam #2

Welcome to the second Hands Off Jam! This jam celebrates games that give your hands a break — games that can be enjoyed comfortably by people with limited hand mobility, arthritis, or anyone who wants a calmer, more relaxed experience.

Minimal clicking or tapping is allowed for reasonable actions, such as starting the game, navigating menus, or occasional interactions. Beyond that, games can use any low-effort input method that isn’t painful for someone with arthritis or limited mobility. This includes:

  • Mouse movement, mouse position, or mouse hover

  • Mouse wheel (ideally in one direction or used minimally)

  • Swiping or gesture input

  • Voice commands

  • Any other low-effort input that doesn’t require repeated clicking or button presses

The key is that gameplay should not rely on repeated or strenuous clicking or tapping. Occasional clicks — for example in a pinball-style game — are acceptable, but may result in a lower accessibility score. Please ensure your game can be played in the browser

Some game ideas:

  • A cursor-dodging game

  • A hidden-object game

  • A maze game

  • An ambient experience where moving the mouse triggers visuals or sound

🏆 Judging

All games will be judged by the host (myself) based on:

  • Creativity – unique ideas and clever use of low-input gameplay

  • Visuals – clarity, style, and effects

  • Audio – how sound enhances the experience

  • Accessibility – ease of play for people with limited mobility

  • Overall – how enjoyable, and polished the game is
