Are you ready to make a halloween-themed game in the short span of a weekend? Sure you are!  

What does a Halloween-theme mean?

You currently know vaguely that the jam is Halloween-themed, but specifically what in regards to Halloween will be announced on October 18th, at the launch of the jam. Make sure to tune in to our launch stream 30 minutes before the Jam starts to watch your dastardly fate be sealed by the choices of a mere spinning wheel, by which you will get THREE THEME WORDS. You can choose to base your theme off one of the words, two, or all of them, but be clear what you based it off of in your final submission and presentation.

Here are the rules for this Game Jam:

• No Nudity or sexual content
• Violence is allowed, however nothing too graphic. “Aesthetic blood” and light cartoon violence is allowed (blood in a room, fighting), but nothing too obscene (brutal depictions of dismemberment). If you’re not sure what’s too violent, check with a mod.

• Any kind of racism or discrimination will not be tolerated, in game or within the community.
• You are allowed to use free assets, but no copyrighted products in your final project.
• No plagiarism, No AI Art or AI generated programming (Chat GPT or similar can be used for debugging)
• Have a paper trail for assets you used: be clear where your assets are from if they are not all original or if some of them were made before the game jam with a supplemental document in your submission. It’s not a penalty, it's just to be clear how many original assets were made in the time span of the project.
