Hack From Scratch is all about encouraging creativity and creative pursuits. As such, we're running a CREATIVE JAM that anyone can participate in!
We have five categories:
- Audio Alchemist: a participation-based category for projects with a focus on music and sound. ALL SUBMISSIONS receive an Ableton Live 12 Intro License.
- Player One: a raffle-based category for playable, interactive projects. Five submissions receive ONE Hyperkin Competitor Controller.
- From Scratch: a raffle-based category for projects that push the maker out of their comfort zone - this category is all about how you create and what you learn along the way. One submission receives a roll of 1kg ELEGOO Black PLA 3D Printer Filament.
- Visualization: a raffle-based category for projects with a focus on the visual arts. One submission receives a UUNA TEK iDraw 2.0 H A3 pen plotter.
- Mayhem: a raffle-based category for the most absurd, chaotic, outside-the-box projects. One submission receives a Danny Devito life size cutout.
You may collaborate with as many people as you want, however note that we will only be providing one prize for the winning submission, NOT one prize per person.
A couple quick ground rules - you are NOT allowed to:
1) Copy someone else's work without asking for permission/claiming it as your own (plagiarism)
2) Use AI tools to make your entire project - using tools to support is acceptable, but the work should be largely your own
3) Submit the same project under multiple different emails/names for different categories
These submissions will be disqualified from raffles and removed. Note that submitting projects that you've worked on prior to the jam is allowed - we just want to highlight and reward people for their awesome creative work. Of course, we'd prefer it if you worked on your project during the week as well though.
In addition, all NSFW content will be disqualified. PG-13 is acceptable, but we want to make this as accessible and open as possible.
Finally, low-quality submissions with no/little explanation regarding what was made, how it was made and what was learned will also be disqualified from raffles. Even if what you tried didn't work, you can still submit - you just need to put clear effort into explaining why it didn't work, what you tried and how you made it.
Thanks for participating in Hack From Scratch!
