I'm excited to announce our community's first game jam! Since starting the channel to talk about the business of the video game industry and help indie developers start their own studios, I've been wanting to throw a competition to get the creative juices flowing.

The goal of this jam will be to build the best gameplay loop in the shortest period of time. The jam will last two weeks, starting May 3rd. Additionally, the first place winner of the jam will get help from me in getting their game published and marketed. I'll take nothing from the publishing. It will just be free consulting and support to kickstart your indie journey.

Myself (Cam) and a few other judges will be voting to find our favorite game to be the winner of the jam. 

Judge Criteria

• Gameplay
• Theme
• Audio
• Visuals

The first place winner of the jam will get help from me in getting their game published and marketed. I'll take nothing from the publishing. It will just be free consulting and support to kickstart your indie journey. 

• Games must be suitable for all ages; no NSFW content allowed.
• Game assets don't have to be made completely from scratch during the jam period. Using pre-made assets is allowed, but proper licensing and credits are mandatory.
• The actual development of the game must all happen during the jam period.
• Anybody can enter, with any team size.
  
• All game engines are allowed.
• Direct copies or asset flips of other games are prohibited and will result in disqualification.
• Respect intellectual property; do not steal or use others' work without permission.
• Participants retain ownership of their creations; Going Indie claims no rights to submitted games.
• Submitted games may be featured on Going Indie's social media accounts.
