Welcome to the [Gift Jam]

Do you know someone whos birthday is coming up? or maybe you just really want to make them something to show appreciation? Then this is the jam for you. This jam is focused on one thing and one thing only, making small games as gifts for people we care about. It will last 2 months, July to September, now thats a long time, but I recommend using 3 days - 1 week of the time, a game thats made as a gift should be simple, or else it becomes more about you and less about the person you're making it for.

There will be no additional themes/limits, the idea is simply take someone you care about and make them a special gift. Maybe you want to get a head start on making a meaningful Christmas or birthday gifts.

You can be a pro dev or a new one, in the end you made something special for somebody, regardless of quality your gift will be super meaningful. Dont stress, cause trust me when I say its the thought that counts!

RULES

- Games that break itch TOS are banned. Basically, NSFW or VERY violent games should be tagged with proper warnings.

- Hateful content is not allowed

- If a game is obviously unrelated to the jam it will be removed. If you want to be super safe, have the game say happy birthday or a gift to some sort of alias of the person the game is for.

- Use only assets you have the rights too! Imo custom bad art will be even more charming of a gift than random store stuff. Make it personal!

Note that you CAN start early, the point of this jam is not to have a serious game making competition tbh its hardly a jam, the goal is to make something special for someone! Hell you don't even have to submit to complete, though devs are generally really nice with feedback and might give good advise on how to prepare the gift for your giftee!

You can also make a physical game! cards or board games are welcome! For those upload A PDF with all the cards/boards and pieces, and a rule book. Might not have a ton of people playing from here but the game isn't for us, its for your giftee!
