Challenge yourself to make a game in three days!

Background, thumbnail & header art by 89o, check out his games here:

  • Work either individually or as a team
  • Any game engine or programming language can be used
  • Must be made within the three day time frame
  • The theme and hardmode challenge will be announced when the jam starts

Theme & hardmode challenge voting is now open! Click here to vote!

Look out for theme voting opening on the 17th of August!

The "hardmode challenge" is an optional restriction or goal that you can do to challenge yourself in the jam!

Some possible ideas may include:

  • Only using paint for graphics and artwork
  • Submitting the game 24 hours early
  • Having only one or two button controls in your game

There is no extra reward for doing the hardmode challenge, for it is entirely done to test yourself. However, if you did try it, please mention it in your games description so others can know!

Game judging will be done by Geta staff alongside other hired judges, and will occur over two weeks.
If you are interested in being a judge for the jam please contact us either through Twitter or through Discord!

We will rank each game by the following categories:

  • Gameplay - how do the game mechanics work together to create a singular gameplay experience
  • Visuals - how effective are the visuals at supporting the gameplay and mood?
  • Audio - how effective is the audio at supporting the gameplay, visuals and mood?
  • Mood - how does each element of the game work as one to build a singular mood or atmosphere?
  • Innovation - how original or innovative is the game concept? Does it try anything new?
