Welcome to GameDevNetwork's 2021 Summer Game Jam 🎉

Whether you are a complete beginner or industry veteran, GDN is an online community for gamedevs around the world to learn and build cool stuff! 

Theme: REBIRTH

• You may use any game engine.
• You may not use any pre-made assets or scripts. *(see exclusions)
• There is no team size limit, however, prizes will be capped at 4 per team.
• Your entry must not contain any NSFW/Adult content. 
• You own all associated rights to any content produced.
• Please try to upload a WebGL build of your project if possible! This is not a hard requirement, though will make it easier for others to try your game! 

Asset Exceptions

🎨 Artwork
You may use any Kenney assets in your game, see a full list of his public domain assets found here:
https://www.kenney.nl/assets

You may also use public fonts (big recommendation for DaFont)

🎵 Audio
You may use short samples + sound effects assuming there are no copyright violations. Whole tracks are not permitted.

🏃‍♀️ Animations
You may use any 3D animations (+models) offered by Adobe's Mixamo

⚙ Engine Stuff
You can use any tools/editor extensions that do not directly add content to the game. e.g: Yarn, Bolt, Odin

GDN Group Finder System

We know how difficult forming teams can be, especially for beginners! To help make this process easier, we have created a bot based entirely on Discord where you can create a profile with information such as your role, experience, teammate preferences, time commitment and so much more! 

Our bot's fancy algorithm will then get to work on finding you your perfect team! 

To use our Group Finder, head over the #group-finder channel in GameDevNetwork.
You must have filled in a post in #introductions to see the channel

Get involved with the community by sharing your progress updates, get feedback from your fellow jammers, and browse all the other goodies we have to share! 

If this is your first time hearing of us, we're a totally voulentry-ran group of devs that just really love bringing people together to make cool things happen. No catches!

While we avoid any high-ticket prizes as we believe it takes away from the collaborative/experimental nature of game jams, we do have a few GDN goodies to give away!
